Button in a Hole
Summary:
In the following tutorial, we'll learn how to create the illusion of a button with in a hole.
Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a new document in Photoshop. 300x300 width/height.
2. Select the Paint Bucket tool.

3. Fill in the background with a light grey color. (Hex Color: #f3f3f3).

4. Create a new layer. Name it "Hole".
5. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool.

6. Create a circular selection.

7. Select the Paint Bucket tool. Fill in the circular selection with a dark grey. (Hex Color: #898989).

8. Right click the "Hole" layer. Select "Blending Properties" from the pop-up list.
9. Choose "Inner Shadow". Set to the following:

10. Click OK to close out and return to image.
11. Create a new layer. Name it "Button".
12. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool again.
13. Create a circular selection inside of the hole.

14. Select the Paint Bucket tool. Fill in the circular selection with a color of your choice. (Hex Color: #ff9c26).

15. Right click the "Button" layer. Select "Blending Properties" from the pop-up list.
16. Choose "Drop Shadow". Set to the following:

17. Choose "Bevel and Emboss". Set to the following:

18. Click OK to close out and return to image.
19. You should now have your "Button in a Hole".

20. Repeat the tutorial and try different colors to create a colorful array of buttons.
